Jon Stewart talks about George Zimmerman. He pulls up Zimmerman's special prosecutor: Angela Corey. She tells us that he is charge with 2nd degree murder. The whole time, Jon is making fun of the way she speaks and how she keeps stalling to get to the charges. Then he shows the reaction of the Martin family and they are glad that he got arrested. Then he shows other news reporters saying that he was charged for too much. The rest of the show is about wondering if this case will be the case of the decade.

Tax Time

This cartoon shows a man trying to mail his IRS 2011 tax returns. However, the mail is not staying in the mail box and going straight into a box thats labeled GSA PARTY FUND. I think this cartoon is trying to say that tax returns are not benefiting anything but something casual like a party. This reflects on America because our money is going to waste and not to important things that we need.

Prom 2012

This cartoon shows Obama and Romney both trying to have the Statue of Liberty as their prom date. This can not be taken literal because what they really mean is that they want all the women votes to support their campaign. Since the Statue of Liberty is a female and her sash says "women voters", it is evident that these two men want all the possible votes they can get to win the next election.

I Smell Smoke..

This cartoon is making fun of Romney by saying that he would set his pants on fire but not his hair. I guess the author is trying to say that he isn't willing to do anything it takes to get his campaign out to the public. I think Romney should sacrifice more in order to win because this cartoon is making me think that he wouldn't do everything for America.

Rick Santorum

This cartoon illustrates Santorum trying to go back to the home that he has already went to. This can be assumed because the couple are hiding from him like they know what he wants already and because the caption says that he's come back. I think this cartoon is trying to say that he is very desperate for votes because of the emphasized onamonapeia in the cartoon.

Angry Whites Only

This is a comic of all the outrageous problems we have in America. Electric fences, gator filled moats, sanctity of marriage, no contraception, and vaginal probes have been the things that are being added to society. This year, there is a new thing being added and it is the Voter ID law. It can be interpreted that the law is equaled to these other existing issues. Also, since the sign says "Angry" whites only, it must not be favored among white people.

All Obama's fault

This cartoon is saying how that there two people think that every thing that is bad is caused by Obama. Since they are saying that they are positive assumes they are being biased against the president because there is actually no proof that it is Obama's fault. This ties into our class discussions because we have been following the election all year.

Giving Up

This cartoon is showing that the price is the house is reducing until the owner decides to just accept something simple like a sleeping bag and a shopping cart. It depicts that homes are not selling fast enough because people can not afford it. This ties into the Stock Market because we did have a crash last year that lost many jobs and left people to lose their money. This relates to in-class discussions because we are learning how to handle our money in the Stock Market Game.

Election Over

This cartoon shows how much people care about the Election. Instead of actually voting, they write things like "Hooray! It's all over!" and "Can I have my TV back now?!". It concludes that people cant wait for election to be over and it is not important to them. It seems like people are frustrated with polls, voting, and even the campaigning that interrupts their TV time.

Ideology

This cartoon displays two different ideologies. The car that is crashing through the fence claims to have a ideology following God. However, it is making him about to crashing into the more careful driver. The other car claims to know which direction he is going because his co-pilot has a map. This can tell you that having an ideology can point you to different directions in life and some can lead you to bad places. This relates to our class discussions because we talked about different ideologies.

Romney Care

The cartoon displays Romney at a hospital testing for DNA. Evidently, the DNA that he is testing for is his health care and Obama's. The results of this test say that they are identical. Romney is upset about this probably because he wants to propose different things that Obama's health care. Since they are the same, Romney didn't feel like an individual with his proposed health care plan. This is related to class discussions because we have been talking about the presidential campaign for the whole year.

The Dow's Scream Machine

This cartoon shows a roller coaster ride with numbers of each side of the ride. A roller coaster most likely represents the way the stock market is going for Dow Jones. First its at it's high peak and it decreases in a matter of seconds. This relates to our class discussions because we are playing the Stock Market Game and it shows us how numbers can change very quickly.

Untruthful

There was no title that came with this cartoon so I made one up myself. I chose the title Untruthful because the man in the blue is venting about how people are always lying to him when he asks them questions. The message of this cartoon is that a pollster being lied to is equaled to marriage troubles. This cartoon is related to our class discussions because we learn about margin error and that is one of the ways that margin error can increase, if people are not saying their honest opinions.
